Selling Tickets to Events

MakeWay maintains an Eventbrite account that projects must use for all events with paid tickets or donations. All revenue from Project event pages in the MakeWay Eventbrite account will be sent directly to MakeWay’s bank account. Projects that want to request an event set-up should consult with their Project Specialist and then complete and return the request form

Projects that are interested in using a different event management or ticketing platform should consult with their Project Specialist well in advance to ensure the platform is compatible with MakeWay’s payment processing systems.

Tickets for events are generally not eligible for tax receipts. In some circumstances, Projects may be able to provide a split receipt. In these cases, the fair market value of the event would be subtracted from the total cost of the ticket and the remaining balance would be receipted. Projects that want to pursue split receipting for event tickets should consult with their Project Specialist.
