Rapid Response Strategize Stream opening June 1!
Here we are again so quickly after a short week; I hope all of your Mondays are going well. I have three updates for you today:
1. Rapid Response Fund for Changemakers: Thanks to continued support from funders, we are now preparing to open the fund to applications in the “Strategize” stream! These grants will provide longer-term support for projects who are rethinking what the post-pandemic era looks like.
Before we do this, I would like to provide one more opportunity for projects still waiting to submit (or who have already submitted) proposals for a short-term mobilize or stabilize grant.
o The review committee will meet to review mobilize/stabilize on Tuesday June 2 to approve grants to be processed in the June 12 grant cycle. Please ensure your application is submitted by end of day Monday June 1.
o NOTE: We will still gladly accept proposals for mobilize/stabilize grants after this meeting, however we expect to receive a significant number of requests for strategize grants and funding will be limited.
The application form will open for Strategize grants on Monday June 1. The decision committee will meet to review the first Strategize proposals on June 16, so all proposals must be in by end of day Monday June 15 to be considered in round one.
o The maximum grant limit will increase to include $7k and $10k grants for stabilize only. All other terms will continue to apply i.e. no formal reporting, no overhead for projects.
o Proposals demonstrating collaborative and innovative solutions will be prioritized.
o Additional mobilize/stabilize proposals will also be reviewed on June 16 (if applicable).
2. MakeWay Implementation Package - Our Communications team has created a Box folder where you will find all assets needed to rebrand your public touchpoints as MakeWay after the public launch on June 11. As you know, all contents in this folder are confidential. If you have questions how about Tides Canada can support you with this transition, please reach out.
- Looking forward to seeing you at the ‘friends and family’ launch on June 4!
3. Reopening places of work – A working group of the Tides Canada Senior Management team is currently meeting to finalize guidelines to support TCF and TCI start with returning to offices and other places of work. The guidelines will be accompanied by tangible checklists and template safety plans based on jurisdictional requirements.
- Projects will have full decision-making authority as to when to starting working/delivering programming in-person, and TCI is here to support your decision-making and talk through the considerations (including provision of a safety plan in advance of opening).
- I’ll have more to share with you in the next two weeks, but please reach out if you have any urgent questions.
Have a great week all,
Lizzie
